Tuition (full-time Âé¶¹Éç)$17,832/quarter

Students enrolled in 3-4 units.

Tuition is billed on the first invoice for each quarter.

Special Charges - The following rates apply to students in the full-time Âé¶¹Éç taking course loads outside of the typical range:

  • Excess course (more than 4 units)*: $7,216/unit

*With associate dean's approval, full-time Medill graduate students may register for a 5th unit of coursework. Students will be charged the excess course fee for the 5th unit.

Part-time Tuition$7,216/unit

Part - time is less than 3 units.

Tuition is billed on the first invoice for each quarter.

Student Activity Fee*$378/quarter

Covers special services and Âé¶¹Éçs for students.

* Effective summer 2023 for enrollments of 2.5 – 4.0 units

Student Health Fee$276/quarter

Charged in Fall, Winter and Spring terms.

For graduate and professional students, the health services fee will now be charged to students with regular access to on-campus health services. The student health fee, and other funding sources, provides Âé¶¹Éç students with equitable access to a variety of health services at the university including: Âé¶¹Éç Medicine Student Health Service in Evanston and Chicago, Counseling & Psychological Services, TimelyCare services, and other on-campus health and wellness initiatives.

NU-SHIP Annual Premium$5,571/year

All degree-seeking students are required to Âé¶¹Éç health insurance coverage either through the Âé¶¹Éç University/Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan or the student’s own health insurance carrier. Students who take no action will default to the Âé¶¹Éç University/Aetna Student Health Insurance Plan and be charged accordingly. See  and  for more information.
